Rahul Dutta completed MSc in Photonics (2012) and PhD in Physics (2016) from the University of Eastern Finland. He carried out his doctoral research in the field of Coherence of Optical Sources.
His research work presents a novel way to characterize the temporal coherence properties of pulsed optical sources, such as ultrafast lasers, which have considerable influence in practical applications, e.g., optical communication, optical coherence tomography, metrology, spectroscopy etc. His doctoral research provides a contribution towards the theoretical understanding of coherence of pulsed optical sources and paves the way towards the experimental characterization of the temporal coherence of ultrafast lasers. After completing PhD he worked in the same group for few months as Postdoctoral researcher.
Presently, he is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Laboratorio de Optica at the University of Murcia. His research deals with the development of advanced photonics devices for retinal imaging.
